In a prophetic book of the Old Testament, one that speaks of the Lord God’s sovereignty, judgement and redemption, is a short hymn, a prayer of praise and thanks to God for his salvation.
1 In that day you will say:
“O LORD, I will praise You.
Although You were angry with me,
Your anger has turned away,
and You have comforted me.
2 Surely God is my salvation;
I will trust and not be afraid.
For the LORD GOD is my strength and my song,
and He also has become my salvation.”
3 With joy you will draw water from the springs of salvation, 4 and on that day you will say:
“Give praise to the LORD;
proclaim His name!
Make His works known among the peoples;
declare that His name is exalted.
5 Sing to the LORD, for He has done glorious things.
Let this be known in all the earth.
6 Cry out and sing, O citizen of Zion,
for great among you is the Holy One of Israel.”
Isaiah 12 BSB
Isaiah chapter 12 tells us that God is our Salvation. We can trust Him and not be afraid because He gives us strength and joy. Salvation comes from God, and trusting Him gives us courage. We should shout and sing joyfully because the Holy One of Israel is with us. During times of uncertainty, we can pray these verses to strengthen our trust in God and choose not to be afraid.
It's important to regularly express gratitude to God for His salvation and blessings. We should boldly share our faith and the good things the Lord has done with others. Celebrating His presence brings joy into our lives. Take a moment to recognize and appreciate His presence both personally and with your fellowship.
