Praying the Promises of His Will
Here are 25 Biblical promises our Lord wants to give us when we ask
Did you know we can ask the Lord for anything according to His will and He hears us?
And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. - 1 John 5:14 LSB
Not only does He hear us, but we can have what we ask him!
And if we know that He hears us [in] whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. - 1 John 5:15 LSB
How do we know what is according to His will?
Go to the Bible. In it we find dozens of insights to the Father’s heart and desire for His children.
So, if you want to pray perfectly in line with the will of God for you—the promises of God to you, then simply open His Word.
Here are 25 things He wants to give us, when we ask:
to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus
to be with one accord, with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
to fill us with all joy and peace in believing
to abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15)
to give us the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the full knowledge of Him,
to know what is the hope of His calling,
to know what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
to know the surpassing greatness of His power toward us (Ephesians 1)
to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man
for Christ to dwell in our hearts through faith
be able to comprehend what is the breadth, length, height, and depth,
to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge
be filled up to all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3)
to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest (Matthew 9)
to seek first His kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6)
to give the Holy Spirit (the good gift) to those who ask Him. (Luke 11)
to be watchful
to stand firm in faith
to act like men
be courageous
do everything in love (1 Corinthians 16)
for wisdom, understanding discernment, knowledge
to understand righteousness and justice (Proverbs 2)
to trust with all our heart
acknowledge Him in all our ways (Proverbs 3)
That is a sample only of two-dozen (plus) promises of God that reveal to us what He wants for us. Among all the things we can go to God and ask, these should be primary among them.
He wants us to ask because He wants to give them (Matthew 7:7). These are good gifts He gives—how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! (Matthew 7:11)
But, someone will say, He already knows what I need and will ask for! Yes, yes of course He does, but He still requires we ask Him. We do not have, says James, because we do not ask.
So which things in the above list do you want? Do you want peace, faith, courage, wisdom, to be filled to the measure of the fullness of Him? What else? Ask and it will be given more certainly than our prayers for a better job, obedient kids, health, finances and the list we are used to praying for.
O Lord Almighty, may we turn our prayers from inward to upward—to You and Your will being done on the Earth—and in us, as is heaven. This is what you tell us You have for us, so let the intercessors cry night and day for what You say You want for us, the Church, the Bride of Your only Son. We ask because we want, we need, just what You want for us. So let it be according to your Word, and for Jesus sake, Amen.

Amen. I thank the Lord for his promises!
And never ever forget the first thing He wants for us, to love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
