It is helpful in prayer to understand that God the Father is approachable and that He wants us to come to Him in prayer – that is, to call on Him.
Some examples from the Psalmists:
Psa 50:15 ESV and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me."
Psa 91:15 ESV When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
Psa 145:18 ESV The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
This call is prayer to Him who says He is near and will answer, deliver, be with us in trouble, and will rescue us.
We are promised He will hear our prayers!
O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come. Psa 65:2 ESV
A call to Him is local, toll-free, and unlimited.
Devotional Prayers - How We Speak
Father, you have blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing.
Let no corrupting talk come out of my mouth, but only what is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear…Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving…And I pray words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
Amen
