Has a relative, maybe a close friend, or someone closely connected to you recently died, and you are unsure if they truly came to know the Lord beforehand?
Perhaps you prayed often for them—or at least a few times, but are uncertain now if they are with Jesus. It is sad to think of those near us that did not live this side of eternity devoted to Jesus. There is always the hope they called to Him while there was still time.
Are we praying for those who remain? A recent loss might remind us to double our prayer efforts for those unsaved on our friends lists. Each day might be a last day, might be a Jesus returns day, so pray for them now.
In a previous newsletter, we wrote about CHURCH prayers, and the U represents praying for the Unsaved—praying for others you know who do not know the Lord. Pray they hear the Good News, understand they are sinners, in need of a Savior who is Jesus, that they repent and believe the Gospel and be transferred from the domain of darkness to the kingdom of Light, that they know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6
Go soon to the mercy seat and cry to the Father on their behalf. They either cannot pray—or they will not, but ask, ask again, and ask still more. Their heart may be hardened, their ears may be stopped, their neck may be stiffened, their eyes may be darkened, all for a thousand or more reasons—but none to difficult for the Lord to break in, for the Light to shine, for the Word to go forth, for the chains to be broken asunder!
Whatever the lie they believe, whatever the doubt they hold, whatever the god they now serve—our God is greater, our God is true, our God is Almighty God! He who formed their bodies knew every one of their days before any of them came to be, He knows our frame, He knows the number of hairs on our head and the number of our days.
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
Pray now for those unsaved around you to repent and believe the Gospel. Pray, while there is still time. Tomorrow may be too late.
Pray For The People Of God From The Word Of God
Here are four passages we are praying from (one passage per day):
Romans 14:19
Romans 15:5 & 6
Romans 15:7
Romans 15:13
Will you join me in praying these verses, and ask one person to join you?
Until Monday, grace and peace
