Intercessions are our prayers on behalf of others needs.
There are many examples of this in Scripture, and we are instructed to do the same: to pray for the needs of others—like those in office, in authority, in government positions.
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. - 1 Timothy 2:1-4 NKJV
They have needs, as do we—and so we pray on their behalf, that is we go before the Father and make requests for them of blessing, healing, protections, wisdom, and so on.
In this PrayerPodcast we have several Scriptures to bring to our Heavenly Father in prayer specifically for our nation and her government.
Praying From:
Hebrews 10:25
Hebrews 13:7
Romans 1:21
Titus 2:12
Proverbs 26:6
John 17:15
Will you join me in praying these verses, and ask one person to join you?
These are perilous times in America, and government is not our solution. We do pray for good and Godly government (all in authority as Paul instructed) that all those who serve would be faithful followers of the Lord Jesus Christ and administer in the fear of the Lord Almighty.
We pray for those who do not know Christ, to be given saving faith and come to know Him as Lord.
This is so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
The answers to our nations, and every nations, woes and troubles, is to come to our senses and return to the Father’s house in repentance. He is sovereign over all the nations, and He will raise up or deposes leaders as He sees fit according to His sovereign will.
Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him. —Psalm 2:10-12
Ultimately, we Christians ought be more concerned about our own family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers coming to know Jesus as Savior. The more Christians across the lands, the better—for them and for us.
We need His wisdom and His grace, so pray for it!
Until next time, grace and peace
Thank you for reading Epaphras Prays, a ministry of intercessors for the people of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Our intent is to pray—and to teach others to pray, Biblical prayers. We all desperately need to be praying more, and yet we do not sense an urgency among believers to do so. Help us reach out with our newsletter to invite and encourage others to their prayer closet.
