Do Not Hinder Them
Here are 7 prayers for the children; 2 more for the church; and one for Israel
Thus Job did continually. Job 1:5
Job was a man of prayer for his children. His sons and daughters would hold feasts, and then Job would send for them and rise early to offer sacrifices for each - For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.” And he did this regularly.
So we also are to pray for our children. Or children in our family, grandchildren, cousins, etc., the neighbors, children in general - for such belong to the kingdom of God (Mark 10:14)
Jesus tells us we know how to give good gifts to our children, how much ought we be giving them the gift of our praying for them!
Here are 7 Prayers For Children
Salvation - praying that they would believe in Jesus as Savior (John 3:16), asking that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. (2 Timothy 2:10)
Grow in grace - praying they would grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus ( 2 Peter 3:18) and confess Jesus as Lord over their lives (Philippians 2:11)
Wisdom - asking that they search for Godly wisdom (Proverb 2:1-5), walking wisely in the ways and wisdom of God (Proverbs 3:5-7); and love the word of God that makes them wise (Psalm 19:10)
Protection - grant they be kept from evil (John 17:15), may their whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless (1 Thessalonians 5:23); and learn to resist the enemy (James 4:7)
Honor parents - grant that children would obey their parents (Ephesians 6:1-3), show proper respect to others (1 Peter 2:17) and learn the fear of the Lord (Proverbs 14:27)
Prayerful - that they would pray at all times (Ephesians 6:18), and like Jesus continue often in prayer to God (Luke 6:12), being watchful in it (Colossians 4:2)
Fruit of the Spirit - Asking they walk by the Spirit, be led by the Spirit, and bear the fruit of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:16, 18, 22-23)
