We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, [Col 1:3 KJV]
Praying this week for the People of God from the Word of God
— Almighty God, we ask, grant to Your servants that with all boldness [we] may speak Your word…and [we] may all be filled with the Holy Spirit, and [we] speak the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:29-31. May words be given us that we would speak as we ought and make known the mystery of the Gospel to those who are perishing.
— Gracious God, hear us pray, grant [us] to be like-minded toward one another…that [we] may with one mind and one mouth glorify God Romans 15:5-7. O make us one with You as You are one. Help us have a humble heart, a servants heart, a giving heart, that we might love as You do and act toward one another in ways which show honor and blessings. May we love one another as You love us.
— Forgiving God, we pray, fill [us] with all joy and peace in believing, that [we] may abound in hope Romans 15:13. Grant to us O Lord, that we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith, and that we may set our hope in You and not forget Your works, O God. Our hope is in You, for with You there is mercy and abundant redemption.
— Loving God, our asking is that You give to [us] the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of our understanding being enlightened; that [we] may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints…and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe…Ephesians 1:17-19.
— Eternal God, [we are] always laboring fervently for [the church] in prayers, that [we] may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. Colossians 4:12. Help us O God to be constant in prayers, going regularly to our prayer closet in secret, to You who sees in secret. We are asking for more people to pray more, going to the Father on our knees asking that the Body of Christ be holy as You are Holy.
Will you join us in praying these verses, and ask one person to join you?
I’ll Not Forget To Pray
A Prayer Hymn, Words: Mary J. Helphingstine
I’m Jesus’ little trusting child,
I need Him every day,
To shield me from temptations wild—
I’ll not forget to pray.
Refrain
I’ll not forget to pray,
I’ll not forget to pray;
To Jesus I’ll bear my every care,
I’ll not forget to pray.
I thank Him for His loving care,
That angels near me stay;
At evening shall ascend my prayer—
I’ll not forget to pray.
And every morn, before I start
Upon another day,
I’ll ask the Lord to keep my heart—
I’ll not forget to pray.
Or should some trial come apace
I’ll hasten then away,
To ask the Lord for strength and grace—
I’ll not forget to pray.
Amen
