The following passage recorded in Mark 11 has faith, miracles, power, prayer, belief and mountains. We will be studying several of these aspects in upcoming newsletters.
22 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God.
23 "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
24 "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask [desire] when you pray, believe that you receive [them], and you will have [them].
Mark 11:20-24 NKJV
This teaching from Jesus is connected to an event just earlier in the same chapter, that of the withered fig tree. How are these related? What is this mountain? What things are desired?
When we think about our own prayers, often they may seem small, trite, or selfish. Our prayer times can be one of duty, and are maybe dry and difficult. Jesus describes here prayer that asks for specific things, and not just casually or generically, but big things that are desired. He describes here our asking is an earnest desire, and one of faith.
Read through these passages this week and ask Jesus to teach us as He did the disciples.
Pray For The People Of God From The Word Of God
Here are three passages we are praying from this week for the saints:
Monday - Matthew 5: 48
Tuesday - Matthew 11: 29
Wednesday - Matthew 22: 37-39
Will you commit to praying these verses for the church, and can you ask one person to join you?
Until Thursday, grace and peace
