A Memorial Prayer to Honor the Fallen
Offering our thanks and asking for His guiding hand on our nation, plus praying for the Gospel to spread across the land
O Lord our God, today we offer our thanks for those who have given their lives for the freedoms You have given this land. That cost is high and we do not forget, but today remember that some gave all. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. They gave in service to their country, and we honor them by thanking You. May we never forget that sacrifice, and may we pray comfort for those who lost their sons and daughters, so that we now have a chance to be men and women.
Father, may our country this day remember Your Son and the great price He paid so that we could be sons and daughters of God. May we see the freedom from sins we have in Christ, and return to the Father’s house in humility, repentance, hope, and love.
Almighty God and King, as we pause today and reflect on the sacrifices made, we turn to You and ask You guide our nation by Your mighty hand, that we the people would once again live according to your Word, with freedom and liberty and justice for all.
Though a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, In this I trust. One thing I have asked from Yahweh, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of Yahweh And to inquire in His temple. - Psalm 27:3-4 LSB
We pray all this in the Holy name of Your son Jesus. Amen.
This Memorial Day weekend, please pray for the Word of God to spread across the land, for open doors for the Word to increase, and result in new believers in Jesus.
May the Word Spread
Thank you for reading Epaphras Prays, a ministry of intercessors for the people of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Our intent is to pray—and to teach others to pray, Biblical prayers. We all desperately need to be praying more, and yet we do not sense an urgency among believers to do so. Help us reach out with our newsletter to invite and encourage others to their prayer closet.
